All About M's!
The M in M's...
Meredith Barnhill Willett - the "M" of M's Canvashouse - opened her retail shop in Lexington, Kentucky in 1991. Meredith has been an avid Needlepointer since she was a little girl. One of her first projects was a needlepoint pincushion she stitched for her Mother.
In 1998, Meredith became co-owner of The Elizabeth Turner Collection. She enjoys creating new designs, attending Markets, and meeting others in the business who share her passion for needlepoint.
Meredith not only teaches in her shop but is actively involved in the American Needlepoint Guild teaching on a national level. She has had articles published in the national magazine, Needlepointers and the independent magazine, Needlepoint Now. Along with her magazine writing, teaching, retail and wholesale businesses, Meredith and friend, Beth Robertson (author of the Stitches for Effect books), have co-authored Knots, Fur and Turkeywork.
Always eager to learn, Meredith has attended classes at the Royal School of Needlework in London; studied goldwork in several museums and cathedrals in England and Scotland; and, has taken goldwork classes from Jane Lemon and Tracy Franklin. This knowledge is generously shared with her students.
The staff of M's Canvashouse are all dedicated stitchers, who each contribute in unique ways to the creative environment of the shop. All of the employees are former customers. Most work two days a week. So when you call, here are the names that make the shop go! Barb, Kathy, Lynn, Sue, Judy, Nancy, Bev, Anita, and our "Saturday Duo" - Midge and Jeff.
If you plan to be in the Lexington area, please stop by for a visit. If you are online,
